Project type
Socio-environmental safeguards • Bioeconomy • Participatory Facilitation • Ecological Restoration
Date
2025
Location
Figueirão, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil
Function
Socio-environmental Consultant and Territorial Facilitator
Conducting a participatory workshop on socio-environmental safeguards, ergonomics, and community governance with the Quilombola Community of Santa Teresa, in Figueirão (MS), within the context of structuring the Cerrado Flower Network and the seed supply chain for ecological restoration.
The work integrated socio-environmental diagnosis, community listening, risk identification, and co-construction of mitigation strategies related to the collection of native seeds in the Cerrado. The work involved themes such as safety in collection, territorial rights, community governance, traditional knowledge, women's participation, youth retention in the territory, and strengthening the community-based bioeconomy.
The methodology was built from participatory dynamics, collaborative games, and facilitation tools aimed at valuing local knowledge and strengthening community autonomy within the ecological restoration chain. The process also contributed to broadening discussions on benefit sharing, pricing, seed storage, collective organization, and territorial protagonism.
The project was developed in partnership with WWF-Brazil, ICP Consultoria, and local leaders of the Santa Teresa community.
